VPW Bobber - True Old School stuff
After buying my first Harley back in 06 and getting bit by the customizing bug, I found myself dying to build a bobber. I loved the look and appeal of a true old school style bike.
I also wanted to showcase some of the Cool Stuff and Parts that we sell here at VPW.
After a few months of searching I found a 79Iron Head Sportster that wasa perfect donor bike.
Building the Bike one of my main goals was I had to follow true Old School traditions'.
The frame is a Paughco, The Front End a 2" under Springer frontend from Attitude Inc. Jammer Cole Foster tank, Chica Rear Fender, Attitude Inc21 x 1.85 Front Rim, Avon Speedmaster Tyre and a Attitude Inc 16 x 3.5Rear, Both Wheel have been Powder Coated and Laced with Twisted Spokes. The Rear has been matched with a Shinko white wall .
The engine when to Wild Rhino Motorcycles in Geelong for a once over,The guys found that the gearbox had a few problems, so they soon had it rebuilt. The 4 Speed also has a jockey Shifter build by me'Wild Rhino also took care of detailing the engine. The primary and cam covers were sent out for powder coating and the rocker boxes went to the chromer's. While it was there the guys also upgraded the ignition to aDyna Electronic Andrews Cams were fitted and the Stock Bendix Carbie was rejetted and Finished with a Attitude Inc Air Cleaner.
The bike went together real easy. I cut down a Round Soft Tail oil tankto make it fit nice into the Frame. I also rebuilt and redressed the forward controls from the donor bike, I made the Exhaust and Side Plate Mount Finished off with a Drilled Tail Light, The Headlight is an HD Spot and the Bars are again Attitude Inc, as well as the Grips and Pegs. The Seat is a West Eagle Item. The Bike has a 4 Spot Willwood Calliperon the Rear for Braking only, True Old School stuff.
